WEEK 21- Baby size of a carrot

How far along? 21 Weeks, 5 days
Total weight gain/loss: 10 lbs+
Maternity clothes? Leggins are my best friend :)

Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Well I've had a couple of nights that I just can't fall asleep. And then after bathroom break(S) I can't fall back asleep so I'm super tired most of the day...I hope it gets better soon!
Best moment this week: Feeling her movements stronger and stronger :) sometimes she responds to my touch and when I get out of the freeway lol she loves to ride already! She gets startled by loud noises (discovered this today!) Also going to the lake with hubby and friends was lots of fun! And having dinner with  our cousing Bre and catching up :)

Miss Anything? Energy...I really wish I had more energy to go out and work out. I will start on a work out plan soon, I can't just sit on the couch after work anymore. My schedule: work 9-5, walk the dog, dinner, eat, couch (either read or watch TV) = bad! So now maybe an hour after dinner I'll go for a longer walk or something...
Movement: many more than this week :) I love it! I think she is deff getting stronger
Food cravings: STRAWBERRIES are a must! so weird..still though nectarines and bananas :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: still just some smells and some food, but I'm better!
Have you started to show yet: Yes, its fun finally showing!

From baby2see.com:

Week Twenty One: Nourishment evolves

You are 21 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 19 weeks)
  • Length is now measured crown to heel.
  • The fetus has grown to 10.5 inches (27 cm) - 12.7 ounces (360 grams).
  • It is now gaining weight steadily, with fat being added to the body.
  • Bone marrow has started making blood cells.
  • Their small intestine is starting to absorb sugars.
21 weeks
Your baby's bone marrow has started making blood cells, a job done by the liver and spleen until this point. The placenta has provided nearly all of your baby's nourishment, now your baby will begin to absorb small amounts of sugar from swallowed amniotic fluid.

Based on the size of baby's head, which is about 2 inches (5cm), the date of birth can be determined to within one week. The fetus is steadily gaining fat and has grown a whitish coat of a slick, fatty substance to protect skin in amniotic fluid and to ease delivery.

In girls, the vagina is formed and the ovaries already contain over six million eggs which will be reduced to about 400 by the time of puberty. For boys, the testes begin to descend from the abdomen this week. (Boys don't produce sperm until puberty).

The baby can hear and recognize the mother's voice, and may respond to some types of music.
