WEEK 26
ONLY 3 MORE MONTHS TILL WE MEET BABY MIA
How far along? 26 Weeks
Total weight gain: I will get weighed tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I'm over 145...eeeek!Maternity clothes? I am not shopping maternity clothes yet, just buying clothes that fit lol and I bought these shorts that are very loose on the belly and it helps so much when it's hot out!!! Wearing the maternity leggings and jeans too
Stretch marks? not yet
Sleep: Waking up less to potty, I'm trying to not to drink anything a couple of hours prior to bed time, it kind of helps. I've been having a couple of nightmares here and there, weird dreams I should say but other than that I love sleeping time!
Best moment this week: starting the baby shower plans and going to SoCal. It was great seeing our families :)
Miss Anything? Not really, just having energy to do more. I am still very tired every day and it's not getting better (probably won't at this point).
Movement: yes! I notice it more when I'm sitting down or laying down. I love it! Can't believe she's almost 2 pounds. Sometimes when I push on a side of my tummy she will react by moving or kicking :) I felt some vibrations today (weird) which I googled and people said it could be her sitting on a nerve or something. I will ask the doctor tomorrow!
Food cravings: still fruit, sweets, eggs lol
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes, I'm not sure what is but I haven't been feeling my best. Last week was hard but I hope it's just temporary.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Back pain (tailbone)
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On. While in SoCal, I did notice that my rings were fitting fine and even a bit tight when I woke up. It went back to normal during the day but I thought...oh geez it's starting lol
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm very happy :) Even though there's still so much to do and so much to get done before she comes (stressed out)! I cannot erase the smile on my face when I think about my baby girl :D
Looking forward to: Doc visit tomorrow, adding to our registry, working on baby shower invites, and entering my third trimester next week..OMG!!!!!
Week Twenty Six: Second trimester ends this week | |
You are 26 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 23 weeks)
The fetal brain scan will show response to touch. Touching and playing with the baby is possible now, as they may respond to your touch through your belly wall. Brain growth continues with brain wave activity for the visual and auditory systems starting to develop. Baby is probably very active in the womb, as the most active weeks are typically between weeks 24 and 28. You may begin feeling your belly tighten and relax at odd moments or irregular intervals. These are Braxton Hicks contractions. They are painless and help the uterus prepare for the birth. Many babies have developed a predictable routine for sleep and active periods. If your back is feeling the strain of your growing belly, try doing some pelvic rocks to relax it. Stand with your back against the wall, knees slightly bent. As you inhale a breath, press the small of your back against the wall. Exhale and relax your back. You may be experiencing shortness of breath as the uterus is very close to the rib cage at this stage. Some moms are not able to fully expand their rib cages; however, this does not negatively affect the baby in any way. The end of week 26 marks the end of month six, which is the last month of the second trimester. |
